Boots On - Time for a Site Inspection!
One of the most effective ways we ensure a project stays on track is through regular site inspections. These visits provide invaluable insights, strengthen collaboration among stakeholders and contractors, and keep clients informed every step of the way.
At DJL, site inspections aren’t an add-on service, they are an integral part of our core offering and a necessary step in delivering quality projects with confidence. These inspections allow us to assess project progress against schedules, align expectations, identify and mitigate potential risks, and explore opportunities for improvement. More than just a checkpoint, they are a proactive approach to project success.
The project in the photo is a project of ours in the Southern Highlands (Wingecarribee). A greenfield subdivision with a large drainage channel and significant earthworks for the size of the project. The discussion on the day was about setting up and maintaining Soil and Water Management controls for the upcoming rainfall predicted on the 7-day forecast. A well planned and maintained site is a productive one.
A successful site inspection will often problem solve the gaps identified between design drawings and the on the ground conditions. There are often areas of design that need an experienced eye to tie into the existing site constraints. Our team prides itself on finding solutions usings our vast and diverse project experience. We work closely with our contractor colleagues to enable fast solutions that unlock projects and maintain productivity.
We also take the site inspection as an opportunity to engage with the project team, contractors, and key stakeholders. Face to face communication is a practiced skill of our team aimed to provide transparent, thoughtful and clear communication. It has proven to save time and money for all involved and is part our DJL's unwavering commitment to deliver thoughtful and complementary development that serves both our clients and community.
We are not the kind of team that manages projects from behind the desk, we get our boots on and get to site!
